About Us

Based in Rotherham, O'Connifers Tree Services covers Rotherham, Sheffield and surrounding areas. We have been in business since 2003 and offer a reliable, safe and professional service.

Our staff are all trained to the standards accepted by City and Guilds and NPTC, and we have full professional indemnity insurance. We are very safety conscious and will discuss work with prospective clients with the aim of providing a professional service at a competitive price.

Our staff are qualified in tree climbing, arial rescue, chain saw safety and arboriculture.

We are happy to advise on the work to be done and provide free, no obligation quotes as part of the process.

In 2024 we were recognised as the best tree service in Rotherham by Quality Business Awards.

Services

We provide a wide range of tree services for both domestic and commercial clients, including but not limited to: tree felling, crown reduction, crown thinning, crown lifting, tree planting, tree consultation, hedge trimming, logs and woodchip sales.

Tree Felling

Where trees are restricting access, dead or dying, causing a hazard or possibly causing harm to other trees, we can remove them in sections without damaging the surrounding area. Advice can be provided as to whether a particular tree or trees should be removed.

Crown reduction

This involves reducing the overall height and/or spread of a tree by selectively cutting back to smaller branches whilst maintaining the natural shape of the tree.

Crown thinning

Crown and canopy thinning involves the selective removal of branches throughout the canopy of the tree in order to increase the amount of light that passes through the tree as well as reducing wind resistance.

Crown lifting

Crown lifting involves the removal of a tree's lower branches either in whole or part in order to increase the distance between ground level and the lower branches. The branches are normally not lifted to more than one third of the tree's total height but advice can be given regarding the height the crown should be lifted to.

Tree planting

We have a wealth of knowledge in regards to tree and shrub planting, whether single trees or whole plots of land, and can advise on the best trees to suit your garden's soil, location, size and climate conditions.

Tree consultation

If an issue arises regarding a specific tree which is giving you concern, then a tree consultation may provide the advice you need. We'll advise on any tree related issue, and based on the information you provide we'll quickly work out a plan of action as needed. We can also check whether any tree is subject to a Tree Preservation Order or is located within a Conservation Area.

Hedge trimming

For those requiring help with larger garden maintenance work, we can trim hedges, bushes and plants with all trimming removed from the site.

Log and woodchip sales

Seasoned logs and woodchip can be provided in bulk or specific amounts for personal use.
